24-hour ECG (Long-term ECG or Holter ECG)
The 24-hour ECG records the heart rhythm continuously over a period of 24 to 80 hours. A small device is fixed to your body at the medical office and you will wear it for 24 to 80 hours. After this time the ECG is analyzed. It enables the doctor to identify disorders of the heart rhythm even if these have not occurred at the time you visited the doctor. The long-term ECG analysis also provides information about circulatory disorders in the heart muscle.
